Filing a notice

To be effective under § 512(c)(3), your notice must include:

Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (or a representative list if there are several).
Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough information for us to locate it (a URL is best).
Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email.
A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Your physical or electronic signature.

Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing exposes you to liability under § 512(f).

What happens next

When we receive a valid notice we remove or disable access to the identified material promptly, notify the person who posted it, and provide them a copy of the notice.

Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same agent containing:

Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which candycode may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.
Your physical or electronic signature.

If we receive a valid counter-notice we forward it to the original claimant; unless they notify us within 10–14 business days that they have filed a court action, the material may be restored.

Accounts and tenants that repeatedly infringe are terminated in appropriate circumstances.
