Terms of Use
These terms are a contract between you and PREPARE THE OTHERS for your use of this website, including any account you create, memberships or tickets you buy, and the live chat. The site runs on candycode, the platform that hosts and operates it on PREPARE THE OTHERS's behalf. By using the site you agree to these terms; if you don't agree, don't use the site.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. To make a purchase you must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
Your account
- You sign in with your email address and a six-digit one-time code sent to that email. There is no password. Anyone with access to your email inbox can sign in as you, so keep your inbox secure.
- Your email address is your identity across sites hosted on candycode: signing in on another candycode-hosted artist site with the same email uses the same underlying sign-in identity. Your activity is not shared or combined across artists (see the Privacy Policy).
- Staying signed in uses a session cookie that lasts up to 90 days of activity. You can sign out at any time.
- We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
Memberships
If PREPARE THE OTHERS offers paid membership tiers:
- Memberships are recurring subscriptions billed through Stripe on PREPARE THE OTHERS's own payment account. PREPARE THE OTHERS is the merchant of record, so their name appears on your statement.
- The price and billing interval are shown at checkout. The price you see is the price you pay; candycode's platform fee is deducted from PREPARE THE OTHERS's proceeds, not added to your total.
- Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel or downgrade at any time from your account page; the change takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep your tier benefits until then. There are no partial-period refunds or prorated credits.
- If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it. Your tier benefits continue during a short grace period and end if payment isn't completed.
- What each tier includes (gated content, included shows, presale, chat perks) is set by PREPARE THE OTHERS and shown on the tier itself.
Tickets and live shows
- A ticket is a one-time purchase that unlocks a specific live show (and its recording, where offered) for your account only. Tickets are personal and non-transferable.
- Access is tied to your signed-in account. Don't share your account or restream, record, or redistribute a show. That's a violation of these terms and of PREPARE THE OTHERS's rights in the performance.
- Shows depend on live technology and real people; start times and content may change.
Refunds
- If a show is canceled, every ticket is automatically refunded in full. You don't need to ask.
- If a show is rescheduled, your ticket stays valid for the new time; access is tied to the show, not the date. If you can't make the new time, ask for a refund at legal+pto@candycode.com.
- All other refunds (tickets or membership payments) are at PREPARE THE OTHERS's discretion; contact legal+pto@candycode.com.
Live chat
- Anyone can watch a public show; sending chat messages requires a signed-in account, so every message carries an identity that moderation can act on.
- Live chat messages are relayed to the room and are not stored: they exist only in the memory of the live room while it runs (including a short recent-messages buffer shown to late joiners) and are gone when the room closes. If chat replay alongside show recordings is ever introduced, this policy will be revised before it applies to any show.
- By sending a message you permit it to be shown, with your member name, to everyone in the room in real time (including that short buffer). Because messages aren't stored, that is the only license you grant: there is no ongoing right to keep, republish, or reuse your messages.
- Chat is moderated: automated filters (rate limits, link holding, term blocklists) run before a message reaches the room, and PREPARE THE OTHERS and their appointed moderators can delete messages, time you out, or remove and ban you. Moderation actions are logged.
- The conduct rules are in the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms.
Content and ownership
- Everything published on this site (music, video, images, text, live performances) belongs to PREPARE THE OTHERS or their licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable license to view and listen for your own enjoyment, and nothing more: no copying, redistribution, or commercial use.
- Member-gated content is for members at the qualifying tier. Sharing it outside the gate violates these terms.
- If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, use the process in the DMCA Policy.
Things you submit
If you send an inquiry through the site's contact form or write in chat, you're responsible for what you write. You give PREPARE THE OTHERS permission to receive, read, and respond to it. Details on how submissions are handled are in the Privacy Policy.
Termination
You can stop using the site or ask to close your account at any time (contact legal+pto@candycode.com). PREPARE THE OTHERS may suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms; if your access to paid content is terminated for a violation, no refund is owed for the remainder of a period. Paragraphs that by their nature survive (content ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.
Disclaimers and limits on liability
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither PREPARE THE OTHERS nor candycode is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the site; and the total liability of each for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid through the site in the twelve months before the claim arose or US $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the site gains features. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version; material changes will be posted on this page before they take effect, and continued use after that means you accept them.
Governing law
[counsel: confirm governing law and venue before the tentative flag drops]
