Acceptable Use Policy

These are the conduct rules for the interactive parts of this site (the live chat and anything you submit through it, including the contact form). They're part of the Terms of Use. The short version: this is PREPARE THE OTHERS's room; don't make it worse for the people in it.

Don't

Harass or abuse people. No threats, hate speech, slurs, bullying, or targeted harassment of the artist, moderators, or other fans.
Post illegal content. Nothing that's unlawful to post or share, and absolutely no sexual content involving minors, which is reported to the authorities.
Post others' private information. No doxxing.
Spam. No flooding, repeated identical messages, unsolicited promotion, or link spam.
Impersonate. Don't pass yourself off as PREPARE THE OTHERS, a moderator, platform staff, or another member.
Infringe. Don't post content that violates someone else's copyright or trademark (see the DMCA Policy).
Break the tech. No attempts to bypass access gates (tickets, member tiers), scrape the site, restream or rip streams, automate accounts, or interfere with the service.

How enforcement works

Enforcement is exactly what the room actually runs:

Automated filters run before your message reaches anyone: rate limits (roughly one message per second, short bursts allowed), link holding for links from non-members, and a blocklist of terms and banned accounts maintained for this site. A filtered message is never shown to the room.
Human moderators, members PREPARE THE OTHERS has appointed, can delete messages, time you out, kick you from the room, or ban you.
PREPARE THE OTHERS outranks the room and can do everything a moderator can, plus appoint and remove moderators. Platform staff entering a room for support are visibly badged as staff.
Every moderation action is logged. Sending messages requires a signed-in account, so every message carries an identity an action can stick to.
Serious or repeated violations can lead to account suspension or termination under the Terms of Use.

Appeals and reports

To report abuse you saw, or to contest a moderation action against you, write to legal+pto@candycode.com with roughly when it happened and what show it was in; moderation logs make actions reviewable.
